In-Home Caregivers

The in-home caregivers stream permits Canadian families to employ international citizens who are capable of providing care in private residences to elder citizens, children and people with disabilities. If Canadians or permanent residents are not available. Employers may request their caregivers to stay with them. Caregivers for people with high medical needs and for children are the Two categories for in-home caregivers.

In this category, Employers can hire foreign workers temporarily for the agriculture related jobs, where the primary job occupation is On-Land Farming. Means that the work or duty of a foreign worker must within the Farm, Nursery or Greenhouse.
The job occupations eligible for this category are related to these NOC codes.
NOC Code 8432, 0821, 8252, 8431, 0822, 8255 & 8611.

  1. I am Abhjit, from India. My fiance got a postdoc (researcher) position in the Lakehead University, and the university send her the offer letter and the offer of employment number. Also note that the position is under the category of LMIA-exempt job. When we apply through IRCC website for work permit, after completing some of the required questioners, we getting the result:

    ” Foreign worker – International Mobility Program ( visitor’s visa required + no work permit)”

    Then it is asking for continue to fill up the corresponding application.

    Is this the correct way? Why it is showing no work permit when we require a work permit?
