Hey there, all foreign workers looking to make Canada your career destination. Canadian Immigration has announced a NEW PILOT PROGRAM FOR FOREIGN WORKERS to make your journey easier and faster. It is called the Recognized Employer Pilot (REP) and this new pilot program of Canadian Immigration is a game changer for employers in Canada who want to hire foreign workers as well as for the people outside Canada who want to live and work in Canada.

What is Recognized Employer Pilot Program (REP)

Recognized Employer Pilot Program is like a shortcut to get work permit of Canada, hassle free. This program will start from September 2023 and will remain effective for three years. REP is designed to make the hiring process easier for companies with a good record of dealing with foreing workers. REP will work under the Temporary foreign worker program of Canada.

When any foreign worker, wants to apply for Canada’s Work permit, a job offer is required. Getting a job offer means going through the process of Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). LMIA is an approval document from Economic and Social Development of CANADA (ESDC) which allows any employer in Canada to hire a foreign worker.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Recognized Employer Pilot Program is all about benefitinng those employers who have been following the Canadian Immigration rules in hiring the foreign workers.

Who can hire under Recognized Employer Pilot

Employers in Canada who have successfully hired at least three foreign workers and gotten three positive LMIA for them in the last five years can now become the Recognized Employers for this new Pilot Program.

All employers under Recognized Employer Pilot Program will have access to a long term LMIA approval. Now they can get LMIA and hire a foreign worker for up to 36 months directly. Moreover, Employers can bring the international talent to Canada more easily.

How REP Is Rolling Out

Recognized Employer Pilot (REP) is set to start in two phases

Phase 1: Starting in September 2023
Agriculture Jobs in Canada – If you are interested to work in Canada in Agriculture sector. You can apply for REP from September 2023. Get ready to work in Canada for Agriculture Season 2024.

Not only foreign workers, Employers from Agriculture sector who want to join REP can apply to become recognized from September 2023.

Phase 2: Starting January 2024
All other job sectors – Foreign Workers from all other job indutries and occupations can apply for REP from January 2024.

Employers from different job industries who wish to join REP can apply from January 2024.

Note: Employer’s Applications for both Phases will be accepeted until September 2024.

Economic and Social Development Canada ESDC is responsible to make decision of Employer’s application to join Recognized Employer Pilot Program. They will deeply look at employer’s track record with the TFWP. If any employer can not get Recognized status can still hire any foreing worker through the regular Temporary Foreign Worker Program.

How to Apply for Recognized Employer Pilot

All candidates needs to apply for jobs to the Recognized Employer of REP. The employers list will be available soon. If any employer offers you a job, you can get the LMIA valid for up to 3 years and can also get the Work Permit of Canada much faster.
