Poland, a European country joined the Schengen area on 21st December 2007. Any foreigner having a valid Visa of Poland can travel between all the Schengen states visa free and border free.
Poland is a Baltic country having population of around 38 Million within the area of approximately 313,931 sq. KM. Poland shares its borders with Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania.

Poland Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced multiple types of Visas for foreign nationals.

- Poland C Visa
- Poland D Visa
Not all foreign nationals need a visa to enter Poland. Before applying for a Visa, please check with the Polish MOFA if you need a Visa or not depending on your country of citizenship.
Poland A Visa
Poland A Visa is an Airport Transit Visa required to travel through any Polish International Airport. It only allows the traveler to remain in the International Transit Area of the airport and does not allow to enter the country. Nationals of these countries usually require a Transit visa to travel through the Polish territory. Afghanistan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Congo, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Cuba, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia and Sri Lanka.
Poland C Visa (a visit visa)
Poland C Visa or Poland Visit Visa is a Schengen Visa allows its holder to enter Poland and/or any other Schengen country. The maximum duration of stay allowed on a Type-C Visa is 90 Days within 6 months.
To obtain this type-C Poland Visit Visa, there are a set of requirements and eligibility criteria to meet. Luckily, the documents required of a Type-C Visa are very much similar to the required documents for a Type-D Visa. All the requirements are mentioned below in the article.
Poland D Visa
The Poland D Visa is a multiple Entry Schengen Visa issued to foreign nationals who wish to stay in Poland and Schengen Area for more than three months. The maximum duration of stay allowed on a D Visa is 1 year.
The requirements for Poland D Visa are exactly the same as a Visit Visa which is Visa Type-C.
Poland D Visa Requirements
These are the required documents for a Poland D Visa and Poland Visit Visa as well.
- Passport (valid for more than 1 year)
- Visa Application Form
- Photograph
- Visa Fees Payment Receipt (see visa fees below)
- Travel/Medical Insurance which covers the medical cost of at least €30,000.
- Cover Letter

- Bank Statement
- Personal and (Company Account for business owners)
- Proof of Income for Employed;
- A letter from employer, stating the employment details, the date of your travel etc
- Proof of income for self-employed;
- All documents related to the business registration and membership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (if applicable)
- Tax Returns of past 2 years
- Return Air Ticket
- Proof of Accommodation in Poland and/or (other Schengen states)
- Any other supporting document that may help you Visa Application for Approval.

Is it a Poland Job Visa?
The term “Poland Job Visa” is commonly used by applicants only. This type of visa does not exist.
POLAND JOB VISA means any kind of Visa which allows the holder to search for a Job. And there is no restriction of job search if you are having a Poland D visa. Technically, you can search for job. But you are not allowed to work in Poland on this Visa.
Can I Change Poland Visit Visa to Poland Work Permit?
Yes, you can switch from Visit Visa to Work Permit. There are certain requirements before submitting an application for a Work Permit.
- An Employment Contract (from a Polish Employer)
- Be qualified and able to work for that position which is offered to you
- There may be other requirements depending on your nationality
Once you meet the above criteria, you employer can submit Work Permit application on your behalf to Polish Voivodeship.
